Enterprise Task 5

10 short but informative statements that identify my distinctive ‘positioning’ as a Graphic Designer...

1. Over the past ten weeks i have come to the conclusion that i want to design for the fashion and retail industry.
2. One ambition I have within the fashion industry would be to get involved in some way within the editorial design of fashion magazines and articles. During my primary and secondary research that i conducted on fashion magazines, the main one being Style Magazine, i was inspired and impressed by the visuals with the content of the mag.
3. In order to pursue this ambition i am going to become more knowledgeable about layout and the theory behind it , so i am going to teach myself further about using InDesign.
4. I am going to contact potential clients in order to get some feedback and advice when working in the industry or their company.
5. I am also going to apply for some work experience or placements in order to give myself a taste of the real design world, preferablly in the fashion and retail industry.
6. Web and digital design is something else that i have decided to look into. Websites for promotion of fashion companies and online stores is something that i would like to design. 
7. I am going to also set up an individual website or blog separate to this blog in order to promote myself and get myself out there as a designer. The website/blog will be an online professional , organised portfolio about what i am interested in , perspific pieces of my own work, inspiration and aspirations. 
8. Branding and identity is another ambition of mine, i am interested in re-branding certain companies that i have been researching , i feel that i have a lot of visual ideas within fashion branding and identity. 
9. I am going to look further into interior design to see how i can fit it into my graphic design practice, throughout my research i have noticed that the interior of a clothing store often has the same theme to the web design and branding of it , i need to look into how the process of interior design related to graphic design. 
10. I am going to do the same with photography , image plays a key role in graphic design , and as i am passionate about photography i need to research into how it could fit in with my design practice and not just as a separate hobby. A good knowledge of  visual communication using photography will improve my work and lessen my competition. 
11. As a seporate goal that i am setting myself , i am going to become more familiar with type. If i am going to get involved with editorial design i need to become more knowledgeable on the fundamentals of creating typefaces and how they fit within an article.
